Founded in 1676 by the Drayton family, Magnolia Plantation has survived the centuries and witnessed the history of our nation unfold before it from the American Revolution through the Civil War and beyond. It is the oldest public tourist site in the Lowcountry, and the oldest public gardens in America, opening its doors to visitors in 1870 to view the thousands of beautiful flowers and plants in its famous gardens.

National Collector Car Appreciation Day (July 15,2017)!

Saturday, July 15, 2017. Calling all collector car nuts! Come celebrate the “National Collector Car Appreciation Day!” This marks Charleston’s 8th commemoration of this annual SEMA event to raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in America!

Christmas Drive-in at Magnolia Plantation (Dec 17, 2016)!

“Drive-in” at Magnolia Plantation on December 17th, 2016, 11am – 3pm. Magnolia Plantation and Gardens is hosting a children’s Christmas Village and has invited LMC to a “Drive-in” on December 17th. It will be a real “drive-in” in that we will park in the field by the plantation home and have a Christmas themed moving playing!
